Fisher Price......my first medium format camera

Photobucket

as of August 2009 I will have been a "photographer" for five years...

if I had a nickel for everytime someone asked me, "are you a photographer?"

I'd be in a completely different tax bracket...

within the past year I've worked at Dodd Camera in downtown Cleveland I've learned more about my craft than I have in the previous four years of shooting...

to this day I still very much so consider myself a student of this art form...

and do plan to utilize this "student mentality" for as long as I can in this forever-changing industry...(especially now that everything's digital)

given that I started out using digital media mostly I felt that I needed to give film a try....seeing as how that's where it all started anyway...

during my recent escapades at Dodd I managed to get my hands on a Mamiya 1000s body with an 80mm f/2.8 lens for a whole week....

I was happier than Ralphie in 'A Christmas Story' when he got his official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock Christmas morning...

I gotta say that I really felt like I was doing something with every shot...

listening to that shutter was mesmerizing...

with digital it can get mundane (at times) with the instant gratification of seeing everything on that LCD screen...

*sigh*

the pictures of me were taken by my wonderful assistant (and upcoming photographer...*wink* *wink*) D Ivey!

the rest were taken at Donald Black Jr.'s studio here in Cleveland...

the pictures of me were done with Kodak Tri-X film ISO 400...

the rest were done with Ilford HP5 film ISO 400...
